CGMP "Multicast"

We have ip cgmp enable in each interface of our core switches "Catalyst 6509 SUP2/MSFC2".

# sh run

int vlan xxx

ip cgmp

I remember that we had to configure this because of Ghost Software and our access switches Catalyst 1900.

Because, we have Catalyst 2950 is Access and Catalytst 2970 in Distribution and core is Catalyst 6509, can we take this command out.

Thanks

because of catalyst 1900/28924

Re: CGMP "Multicast"

If you do not have any devices which use multicast on CGMP switches such as 1900/2900XL/3500XL/CAT OS based 4000 etc, you can take off "ip cgmp" from the VLAN interface. 2950/2970 support IGMP snooping and is enabled by default.
