I have 2 6509s, CATOS on one, IOS Native on the other, both on different vtp domains. Attempting to etherchannel between both. When enabling the 1st interface in the channel group, the interface goes to admin-down w/ the following error:
%EC-5-STAYDOWN: Gi3/1 will remain down as its port-channel Po3 is admin-down
I have consulted w/ DOC. Document ID: 12029 & cannot find an issue w/ my config. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For starters, make sure Port-Channel3 on the switch running IOS isn't shutdown.
Also, posting the config from both switches should be helpful.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I don't want to burn your time. I ran a
'sh eth 4 d' and found Po4 down and the interfaces in "Down Not-in-Bndl". A brief google on the above yields a common issue around etherchannel on unsupported modual interfaces combinations or incorrectly configured interfaces. It may be best for me to get a good Cisco book on etherchannel & do some reading.
As this is a common problem listed on many forums, I'll report back to all with my findings should I resolve the issue on my own.
