Hi,

Need your input.

I try to understand timeslot matching between Cisco and SIMUX.

I guess timeslot 1 - 15 are same between Cisco & SIMUX as signaling is on timeslot 16 for both.

Based on my finding Cisco timeslot 31 matching SIMUX timeslot 30,

then I reverse timeslot-by-timeslot, which means Cisco timeslot 17 is not usable as it matches SIMUX timeslot 16.

Conclusion (by guessing) , Cisco timeslot 16 & 17 won't be configurable. Same as SIMUX timeslot 16.

Cisco SIMUX

timeslot 1 timeslot 1

timeslot 2 timeslot 2

timeslot 3 timeslot 3

timeslot 4 timeslot 4

timeslot 5 timeslot 5

timeslot 6 timeslot 6

timeslot 7 timeslot 7

timeslot 8 timeslot 8

timeslot 9 timeslot 9

timeslot 10 timeslot 10

timeslot 11 timeslot 11

timeslot 12 timeslot 12

timeslot 13 timeslot 13

timeslot 14 timeslot 14

timeslot 15 timeslot 15

timeslot 16 (signaling) timeslot 16 (signaling)

timeslot 17 timeslot 16 (signaling)

timeslot 18 timeslot 17

timeslot 19 timeslot 18

timeslot 20 timeslot 19

timeslot 21 timeslot 20

timeslot 22 timeslot 21

timeslot 23 timeslot 22

timeslot 24 timeslot 23

timeslot 25 timeslot 24

timeslot 26 timeslot 25

timeslot 27 timeslot 26

timeslot 28 timeslot 27

timeslot 29 timeslot 28

timeslot 30 timeslot 29

timeslot 31 timeslot 30

Can someone tell me what is;

a) The timeslot 16 & 17 meant,

b) it's standard

c) it's timeslot 16 & 17 used for signalling

Thanks,

Raymond

According to this link http://www.gaw.ru/doc/Mitel/MT8979.PDF, timeslots 0 and 16 are unused to allow the syncronization and signaling information to be inserted from the Control Streams. This link should answer the other questions you have.
