Check 1720 router interface type - is it v.35 or x.21?

I'm a newbie who has been asked to check the interface type on a Cisco 1720 router. I've tried a couple of queries like sh int, sh controllers and show controller bri...can anyone help me out? What command should I be using to get this information?

Re: Check 1720 router interface type - is it v.35 or x.21?

For serial interfaces however, it will not tell you if they're x.21 or V.35 since this simply depends on which cable you connect to the wic.

(cfr. http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/pcat/sewn__y2.htm)

If you already have a cable, check

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/pcat/se____c1.htm#xtocid46 to see which one it is (basically, x21 uses a DB15 connecter whereas V35 will use a "Winchester" 35-pin connector.

If you need to order a cable, check with your telco if they will provide you with a male or female connector and look up the corresponding cable on that same page.

sh version should show you the list of interfaces you have. Show interface should also show you detailed listing on the interfaces that you have.
