Can someone give me an indication of the tasks involved, to set up mainframe printing using a CIP card. Currently the organisation I work for has a CIP card connected to a mainframe DLSW+ on the routers and memorex controllers to provide users with mainframe printing. We want to get rid of the controllers and use the CIP card to provide mainframe printing, the desired result is that the network will be all IP without the need for DLSW+ and controllers.

You could run a TN3270 server on the CIP and use that also for connecting printer LUs. Your printers or print servers would have to be TN3270E capable.
Take a look at the TN3270 design and implementation guide on:

Besides using the TN3270 server are there others ways of maintaining mainframe printing without the need of using controllers.
