Re: Cisco 2503 router as terminal server for reverse telnet

cisco2503 has a BRI & ethernet port & 2 serials, in order to reverse telnet we will need to use the Aux port on the 2503 (that will connect to the DSLAM console).

When connecting to a Cisco router console we use a RJ45 rollover cable (pinouts with signal info below), please findout out the pinouts on the DSLAM & make cable accordingly (only if need be).

Re: Cisco 2503 router as terminal server for reverse telnet

Hey, speaking of reverse telnet, can someone give me a hand. I have looked all over cisco.com and all over the internet and I cannot find a resolution to this cisco press question.

Which statements are true regarding the command telnet 10.10.10.2 2011? (Choose two)

A. It is used to reverse Telnet connection.

B. It is used to Telnet to port 2011 on a specific computer.

C. A modem is connected to line 11.

D. It specified a BRI connection to be used for Telnet.

I know it says choose 2, but, aren't A, B and C all correct?

Thanks for your help...

-Marc

Re: Cisco 2503 router as terminal server for reverse telnet

I would think, A and B are more accurate than C is. A and B are definitely correct.

Cisco always expects the most appropriate answer, often termed as the "Cisco Answer"...

What is the answer that the book suggests ?

I apologize, I don't have the book. It was copied from a friend. Anyone else have any idea or explanation?

Re: Cisco 2503 router as terminal server for reverse telnet

You could have a router or some other serial device connected to line 11 of the access-server. In this case the C option is incorrect.
