Cisco 2600 router to PC at home?

How can I connect a Cisco 2600 router to my PC? I have a console cableRJ45 plug). I cannot get it to work with a network card port.

You have to connect the other end of your Console Cable to your COM Port of your PC.There is a convertor (RJ45 to DB9) available.You can use Hyperterminal in Windows to communicate with the router through console cable.

Now you need an RS232 converter for that RJ45 so it fits into the COM1 or COM2 of the PC.
