We have some cisco 2611 routers configured in async mode. They are not able to dial out. We can dial in to thosse routers. Configuration should not be the problem as other 2611 are working with same config. modems are also dialing out on other routers.

Hi,
Will need to see the following debug outputs when a call OUT is attempted.
debug dialer
debug modem
debug ppp nego
Also we need to ensure the following in the config:
1)Appropriate route (static /dynamic) exsists.
2)We have interesting traffic defined, as required for ddr.
3)The dial out interface is in UP & UP (spoofing) mode...basically that there is no backup command (under another interface)that puts this interface in standby mode....shouldn't be in this case since we can dial in.
4)Under the lines atleast have: modem inout/ transport in all / autoslect ppp (if interactive used under asyn interface)
Does reverse telnetting into the modem & calling out using ATDT work?
Thanks,
Makarand.

Configuration might still hold the key. Make sure you have "modem inout" under tty lines.
Debug dialer and debug modem will shed some more light on it. You might probably want to
open up a TAC case for that.
