Cisco 2822 Console Port

I have an old 2822 switch. I am trying to connect to the console port on the switch to reconfigure it.

I am able to get to the diagnostic console and reset the switch to factory defaults. Clear the configuration. However now when the switch has completed POST it is sending what look like modem init commands out the console port.

How can I get to the config menu on this switch. Does any one know. I have not found anything on CCO to help.
