Cisco 2924M and RSTP ?

Hello !

I need technical information about the capability of the Cisco Switch 2924M

using the RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protokoll).

I only found the STP-protokoll in the dokumentations.

Is it possible to upgrade this switch to RSTP ???

Thank´s for Help

Tom

RSTP can interoperate with legacy STP protocols. However, it is important to note that 802.1w's inherent fast convergence benefits are lost when interacting with legacy bridges. If you want the RSTP convergence, then you'll need RSTP support in all the switches, or move the legacy switches to a seperate vlan.

No.

Currently the 2900XL and 3500XL's do not support MST or RSTP.

The 2950 must be an EI before these features will work.
