Cisco 3000 router

This router failed and is stuck in the:

"Booting igs-k.921-7 from flash memory RRRRRR..." mode. How do I get back into this router to find out why it failed?

Re: Cisco 3000 router

Attaching a console to the router, power cycling it and pressing the break key on the console within 30 seconds, should put you in ROMMON.

You should then be able to change the config register to get it to boot from the boot image withthe following commands

o/r 0x2101

i

That will let you examine and reload a new image onto the flash.

Re: Cisco 3000 router

Thank You! However, "break" does not work. It continues the output over and over.

Has anybody ever moved the jumpers for the flash and gotten in? I know that it will erase everything existing and possibly fail again... but if I can get in and perhaps see what's wrong - that would be great!!! We still have 6 of these old boxes and this could be preventative if resolved.

Thanks Anyone/Everyone!!!
