Hopefully this is the correct topic string.

Has anybody seen a fault where Gigabit 2 port disappears,and you are unable to interactive with it.

When rebooted the switch boot ok, but adds a "FRANK-3-BIST_PHASE-FAILURE" fault statement.Is this a return to manufacturers or is it fixable

The port failed asic initialization. If the port is not passing traffic, it is a bad port and you may need RMA. If the port is working fine, the asic initialization probably failed first time.
