Cisco 3550-emi track ip

Hi,

I understand that the Cisco 3550 (EMI edition) does not yet support track ip command.

Basically, I have this switch which is connected to a router. The default route is to go via this router. However, I want the default route to change if the WAN interface on the router is not available.

I do not have access to the router and so I cannot implement any dynamic routing.

Is there any other options like track ip that is supported on the 3550?

Hi Ak,

I don't think there is any option like this on 3550 but yes there is a track interface option available on router if you happen to implement HSRP on lan interface of router.

But as you say you don't have the access of the router so I don't think it is possible for a switch to track something which is not directly connected to the switch itself.
