Cisco 4000

I have a Cisco 4000 router. On front panel, it says, "4000 Series", but in show version, it shows, "cisco 4500 (R4K) processor (revision E) with 384K/4096K bytes of memory. Processor board ID 06450824.

Is it 4000 or 4500?

Thanks,

Re: Cisco 4000

Hi, here are some info:

The Cisco 4000 series consists of the Cisco 4000-M, the Cisco 4500-M,

and the Cisco 4700-M. You can differentiate the routers using the

"(revision ****)" info. For your router, you have a Cisco 4500M series router

because of revision code of "E". A Cisco 4000M has a revision code of "B0" or

"C". I think that there are routers with stickers at the back labeled "C4500 M+"

if it is a Cisco 4500M router.

Hope this helps.

Re: Cisco 4000

The 4000 router has a power on/off switch on the back side. Near to that you should see a sticker with the correct model number (4500 M , 4700 M or 4000 M) on it.
