Hello Falkaabi,

a) What routing protocol are you using? Supply configuration snippets.

b) Why do you think it is not compatible. Did you configure the trunk protocol to 802.1Q? Again supply configuration snippets to support your findings.

Best regards,

--Leon

Cisco 4006 Switch i have enabled Trunking with 802.1q Encapsulation. then i have conected it to the Nortel Switch Base stack 420-24T and Enable Tagging with 802.1q .

same thing when i have tried with Cisco 3550

it was workign fine.

so please Suggest me if there is anything i need to do Extra.

You will have to post the cisco configs so that we can see if there is anything you are missing .We would need the layer 2 and layer 3 sides of the config... It should work one way or the other . For trunking make sure the trunking is dot1q and it is forced on , autonegotiation of the trunk protocol may not work between Nortel and Cisco . On the cisco box check to make sure your layer 2 vlan and your layer 3 SVI looks correct and that the "native" vlan is the same on each side of the trunk...
