Cisco 7200 boot loader

I have a cisco 7206 w/ 4MB of boot flash. However I deleted the image off the boot flash and put on the 20MB PCMCIA memory card. Now the router will not boot even though I have the boot booldr command in the config. Please, some advice or assistance. It will not boot at all now. Just goes to rommon>.

Thanks.

Jason

Re: Cisco 7200 boot loader

Hello Jason,

From your post I assume that you put the "boot image" in the PCMCIA card, and configured "boot bootldr slot0:boot_image. I am not sure if you can load the boot image from the PCMCIA. But I think it should be possible theoritically.

You can also boot the router directly from the rommon>, if you have a valid Cisco IOS image on the PCMCIA card.

rommon> boot slot0:image_name

If all else fails, you may try the Rommon Recovery procedures given in the below page;

Hope this helps.

Re: Cisco 7200 boot loader

Jason,

Did you try the tips that I posted earlier? Is your router up and running now?

Just curious...

Thanks
