Cisco 7206VXR full duplex ethernet segment length

Is it possible to connect a single device to a 10megabit full duplex configured ethernet port with a cable length of 400 feet and have it work correctly?

Hello,

CAT5(e) has a standard guaranteed for distances up to 100 meters (330 feet), anything above it might work or might not. In your case you just have to try and see if it works, officially it doesn't.

In my opinion and experience this will work as long as :

No extra latency is introduced with media conversions.

The media quality is sufficient.

At my work site there are plenty overlength cables witch are used even half duplex without problems.

J,

Do you really want to introduce a potential physical layer problem to your network? We've all had special opportunities arise within our networks, but I would suggest that before you go about pushing the boundaries of failure, see if there is an option, although requiring more work, to locate the gear closer to the 300 ft. mark.
