Cisco 7507 router configuration (IOS 11.1(33)CC1)

Hi,

I would like to know what kind of interface correspond to the following lines in my Cisco 7507 configuration.

interface Async1

no ip address

transmit-buffers backing-store

!

I don´t have asynchronous interfaces in any VIP, so ¿what interface are these lines refering to?.

Hello,

try a "sh controllers vip x tech-support" to see the result focussed to this VIP.

Did you experience a crash of this board maybe the crash did not force a reboot or stuff like that.

Check with "dir bootflash:" is there any crash file.

Have you removed the VIP and inserted in another slot with the same recognition wihtin the config file?

Hi mwinter,

Yes, I get the following output from the "dir bootflash:" command:

RT01COR#dir bootflash:

-#- -length- -----date/time------ name

3 3849172 May 31 1999 04:40:45 rsp-boot-mz_111-26_CC1.bin

5 154345 Jun 15 2000 21:00:39 vip2_0_crashinfo

6 190586 May 28 2001 13:03:45 vip2_4_crashinfo

7 169635 May 28 2001 13:04:26 vip2_1_crashinfo

3090600 bytes available (4511576 bytes used)

But, the router has been reloaded twice since May 28.

Neither I have not removed the VIP and inserted in another slot.

Thank you.

Hi,

thanks for response.

Maybe you have the possibility to replace this VIP and the problem can be solved on that way.

Another tip: Upgrade the software. I see you have different versions running for boot image and IOS.

If you are going to think about the upgrade try to find the same images!

Bye

The async interface usually refers to the Aux interface on your RSP board. It is used for remote console access, among other things.

Yes, you are right. But the lines that I am showing don´t correspond to the Aux interface because I have the following lines for the AUX interface in the configuration.

line aux 0

password 7

login authentication administracion

modem InOut

transport input all

stopbits 1

rxspeed 19200

txspeed 19200
