Re: Cisco 801 Configured boot failed, attempting fallback boot

This is from CSCdu87370:

When the IOS startup configuration does not have a valid "boot

system" command, the following error message will appear:

"Configured boot failed, attempting fallback boot."

This message informs the user that the startup configuration does

not explicitly specify a valid IOS boot image. This is normal

expected behavior and not an error. The ROM will boot the router

using the first valid IOS image stored in the router's flash and

the router will operate normally in all ways after booting.

Ensure that the IOS startup configuration contains a valid "boot

system flash:" command, where should be a

valid IOS image stored in the router's flash. Or, ensure that

the TinyROM "file-name" and "boot-action" variables contain a

valid bootable file name and action, respectively.

If the image c805-y6-mw.121-5.T5 is in flash, place the following

command in the IOS startup-config:

Router# conf term

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

Router(config)# boot system flash:c805-y6-mw.121-5.T5

Router(config)# end

Router# write mem

Or, from TinyROM

boot# set file-name=c805-y6-mw.121-5.T5

boot# set boot-action=flash

boot# save
