Cisco 806 and Encapsulation Command

I have a Cisco 806 router on which I want to setup a sub-interface. I can create a sub-interface but I need to set the default encapsulation so I can set the IP address. The encapsulation command is not available and I am running Version 12.2(15)T5 of the IOS. Am I running the wrong IOS?

You cannot set up trunking on a 806 series router

Thanks for you reply. What router would you recommend if I want to add subinterfaces or allow for 4 to 8 Ethernet seperate interface ports? I don't need any serial connections but I think VLAN trunking requires 100meg speed.

You might want to consider a 1710 or 1751 router which supports dot1q encapsulation
