we have persistent problems with a Cisco 826 on an ADSL line. Configuration looks OK - same config on other side, also Cisco 826, works fine - however, at the site where the WAN interface fails to come "up", the WAN CD led stays out.
We've already switched routers and the problem stays at this one site. Hence we suspect the signal is not strong enough. And also, with a Alcatel 1000 ADSL splitter + Flowpoint router, there seems to be no problem on that connection.
Can we somehow get confirmation that the signal is too weak for the Cisco ?
Any other idea to unblock the situation is welcome.
I have heard about cases of mismatch between the DSLAM and the CPE. Check out your product literature to see what modulation scheme your device supports and whether the DSLAM is doing the same thing. See if the commands 'sh controller atm 0' and 'deb atm event" gives you any clue.

This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
