Cisco 827 ADSL

Does anyone know the limitations of the adsl interface in the 827 router. Does it handle a 4 or 8 mbps adsl pipe? As far as I can see there no info about the adsl interface in the datasheets and I don´t think its the same interface as the wic-1adsl in the 17, 26xx routers.

Your 827 will support downstream rates up to 9MB and upstream up to 640kbps. Although not defined on the spec sheet, it is referenced here. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps221/products_implementation_design_guide09186a00800faf11.html

Re: Cisco 827 ADSL

Thanks Bob,

But it doesn´t say how many pps the router manage. Considering a 1700 router handles about less than 14400 pps (64k packets) another question is if we imagine we have a 4 or 8 mbps downstream rate, will the router manage to forward the packets in that speed?

Re: Cisco 827 ADSL

You bring up a good point, and I believe the answer would be a definate no. I couldn't locate any specs to show pps for this little router, but as a comparison the 805 will only support up to 512k on it's serial interface. I would use that as a reference base. If you need detailed specs for the 827 looks like your going to have to go straight to the source though, as those specs seem to be simply unavailable anywhere else.
