I have a Cisco 837 Router. The problem I am facing is that its cookie information is corrupted.

How is the webpage coming along that will explain how to do this?

I have a 1711 with a corrupt cookie.

Dear NetPros

I have published a first (pre-) release of the page at http://www.bitshift.ch/eng/support/kbase/net.asp

Although it is not yet finished, it may give you enough information to solve your individual problems with cookie corruption.

Please check back soon, since I am still working on this article, and a new revision will be published every few days. I will add all my knowledge about cookies, of course also concerning other platforms like 1700.

Few details about the cookies are still totally unknown. Since Cisco officially doesn't answer any questions regarding those cookies, I depend on you NetPros, and the internet community in general. If you have additional knowledge, even small details, please let me know. My e-mail is on the home page.

Most useful are cookies of working routers. If you want to contribute, send me cookies along with detailed descriptions of the respective routers - maybe a show tech would be best. I will then analyze those cookies and maybe find out even more. (I will not publish any cookies without changing the processor board id and MAC address first.)

BTW: My newly created kbase also includes a tool to find out the priv rommon mode password.

Hope this helps.

Patrick

Dear Anthony,

Password which you gave is working and I have changed cookie values. After that router is booting properly. I found right cookie values from another Cisco 837 Router.

Thanks a lot for your support.

Dear Anthony,

I have another issue with Cisco 837 which I have posted at WAN,Routing and Switching Forum.

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Network%20Infrastructure&topic=WAN%2C%20Routing%20and%20Switching&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.1ddafd74

I hope you can also guide me on this issue.

Regards,

Mujeeb
