I am using a Cisco 837 ADSL router. When I download files, the size of the downloaded files is correct. But when I execute them, it display error. This problem occurs to all the files that I have downloaded. When I switch to another router Cisco 1700 running lease line, I can download the same files and execute them successfully.

Pls advice how can I resolve this issue.

What files are you talking about? If it is Cisco IOS images, after downloading you must verify the "checksum" with that given in the Cisco Web site from where you can download the images. Note down the BSD checksum and Router Checksum and verify them after loading the images in the router before using them. Same checksum verifies that the files have been copied without any errors.

I mean some exe file that I download from the internet, it is not IOS images. Such as mpeg, utilities etc.
