Re: Cisco Catalyst 2924 xl Series Switches

Hi Syed,

You have to first check if there is any image in switch or not so that you can manually boot from switch: prompt but as you said there is no image in the switch you have to go for xmodem procedure to upgrade the switch.

Have a look at this link and just follow step by step instructions and you will be good to go

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps607/products_tech_note09186a00800946e5.shtml#xmodem

HTH, if yes please rate the post.

Any idea how I can reset the permission? Thanks, Syed

Switch Info:

switch: dir flash

unable to stat flash/: permission denied

switch:

List of filesystems currently registered:

flash[0]: (read-write)

xmodem[1]: (read-only)

null[2]: (read-write)

bs[3]: (read-only)

Re: Cisco Catalyst 2924 xl Series Switches

It's all about the syntax. At the switch: prompt, put in "dir flash:". Don't leave out the colon! I had a similar problem with an Aironet 350 access point, and if I didn't put in that colon at the end, it would give me a permission denied error.

Let us know what you find.

Re: Cisco Catalyst 2924 xl Series Switches

I have a Cisco 3640 running 12.2(10b). I am trying to how I can configure

router to accept a dhcp ip configuration on interface e0/1 so it can

accept an address from DHCP. The other interface, e0/0 will

have a statically assigned address as it will be the default gateway

for my internal LAN.

I have a Cisco 3640 running 12.2 I am trying to how I can configure router to accept a dhcp ip configuration on interface e0/1 so it can accept an address from my cable modem. The other interface, e0/0 will have a statically assigned address as it will be the default gateway for my internal LAN. I will be using NAT, but right now, I'm focusing

only on the DHCP client configuration, as my e0/1 port does not seem to be obtaining an address.

Re: Cisco Catalyst 2924 xl Series Switches
