figure 3, at the bottom should read 192.168.1.20 is outside local address and 171.69.68.10 is outside global address

Or is there sommat funky here?

Since figure 2 in that article deals with inside addressing and figure 3 is labeled to deal with outside addressing, and since the text around figure 3 does use outside local and outside global I would agree with you that they made a mistake in the text in figure 3.

I think that it is unfortunate that figure 2 and figure 3 both use address 171.69.68.10 but one uses it as the address of the inside host and one uses it as the address of the outside host. I think the discussion would have been more clear if they had used a consistent set of addresses in the discussion for what is the inside host addresses and what is the outside host addresses. And it looks to me like the labeling of SA and DA in figure 3 is really reversed.
