Cisco Pix ethernet interface won't work with Cisco Router ethernet interfac
I have a brand new Pix 515E and connected its outside eth interface to our Cisco IAD2400 router and the active LED won't come one. The sh int command shows that the interface is up and line protocol is down. Yet, when I connect the same Pix interface to a Linksys router, no problem, and if I connect the Linksys to the IAD router int, no problem either. Its as if the Pix int and IAD int won't communicate with each other. I've removed auto on the Pix interface and tried 100full, but no luck (the IAD int is labeled as "FastEthernet") Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
(Repost, I think this is the more appropriate forum, thanks)
Re: Cisco Pix ethernet interface won't work with Cisco Router et
Thanks for the reply. Actually, that was the first thing I tried and when I used a crossover cable, I got the interface status light on my router constantly blinking instead of solid, and the sh int command still showed the line protocal as down. (And not activity on the Pix LED)
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
