we have a Cisco 2620 with 1 E1 Port for Dial-In. Since last week we used Cisco Secure ACS 2.4 for AAA. Everything works fine. Now we did an update to version 3.0, after the update everything looks fine. But now we have a problem. Sometimes users can´t connect to our network, in the Report on the ACS we can see the following failure: Failled to Allocate IP Address For User. We checkt how many users are logged in and and how many IP addresses we have in our pool. 10 Users were connected and 67 of our 70 IP addresses were in use!!! It looks like the ACS didn´t release the address after the user logged out. Is there a Solution for this problem?
There must be a timeout setting for how long ACS reserves those IP addresses for a user. Does anyone know? I couldn't find it in the 3.0 docs and we're still running 2.4. I suppose it could be a software bug too. Did you apply the 3.0.1-40 security patch that is available?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
