I have a Cisco switches 6503 with supervisor MSFC2, IOS version 12.2, pcmcia ATA card 64 Mb, rommon 7.1(1)..

File installed cat6000-sup2k8.7-2-2.bin

And when I try to copy the IOS in the ATA card, or format the ATA card:

Format slot0:

Or

Format disk0:

The switch can’t copy or format on the ATA card.

And that’s happened in 2 switches with 2 different Supervisor and different ATA cards.

Other think, When I type the show version, I can’t see information about the ATA cards.

What’s wrong?

the PN. is MEM-C6K-ATA-1-64=

That's

Happened when I try to format

Console> (enable) format disk0:

All sectors will be erased, proceed (y/n) [n]? y

Enter volume id (up to 31 characters): test

Format device disk0 failed (unknown device)Console> (enable)

Console> (enable) format slot0:

Enter volume id (up to 31 characters): test

Unknown device mfg id (5d.75.ffffffea)error = -1

Format device slot0 failed (unspecified error)Console> (enable)

Console> (enable)

that's the

show version

Right now, I'm not sure that the switch had the good version of ronmon.

And I found some more:

if I remove the ATA card in hot. the router display the fact, and if I re-insert the card, the same happened

I removed the module 2. (faster than upgrade) and I still have the problem with the ATA card.

Many thanks

Software version 7.5(1). You are currently running 7.4(3). 7.6(5) is the way to go. You can dowload the file from

You need 7.5(1) or higher for your ATA card support

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/relnotes/ol_1982.htm#379543

7.6(5) is the way to go

Version 7.5(1) of what? There ara too much versions on the sh ver . I think the Fw : 7.1(1) is the ronmon version, and that version it' fine.

You mean Sw : 7.4(3), what is that version?

Many Thanks
