CW2000 requires name resolution to work properly. The issues you are seeing could be caused by failing name resolution. On Windows NT, a working DNS server in the network is strongly recommended. As an alternative you could use the Windows host file. WINS is not a supported name resolution schema.

The following must work properly:

nslookup [IP] (where [IP] is the IP address of the server)

nslookup [HOSTNAME] (where [HOSTNAME] is the name of the server)

nslookup [FQDM] (where [FQDN] is the fully qualified domain name

of the server.)

Also, all 3 must resolve to the same information!

We use windows host file and name resolution on Cw2k not work properly.

Ping using name or IP --> ok.

Nslookup using name or IP --> fail.

¿why?
