Re: Cisco1841 reboot error

Hi,

Cisco have an excellent doc for troubleshooting bus error crashes at:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1831/products_tech_note09186a00800cdd51.shtml

Basically, it could be either hardware (in which case you need to RMA the router) or software (in which case a simple IOS upgrade could fix it).

HTH - plz rate if useful

Andrew.

Re: Cisco1841 reboot error

This is new router and IOS is also one of the latest one. We are using SDM, Does it can cause the problem ?

Re: Cisco1841 reboot error

Hi,

You can have a look at the URL posted by Andrew to investigate more on the nature of this issue.

If you could check the release notes/caveats addressed on 12.4 release strains, you can see several references for this type of bus errors caused by some IOS issues, which are addressed in the later codes.

As 1841 is modular, if you have any additional modules installed in the router, try reseating them properly and check. If the error repeats you can follow the guidelines provided in the URL posted by Andrew for further diagnosis.
