Cisco3550 Printer connection

When connecting a printer to a jack that's patched to port fa0/10, I get nothing no link light. But When I connect a pc I get connectivity. Why no connection for the printer? I confirmed printer is good w/another port on the same switch and it works. Any suggestions on cause and resolution. Your feed back will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Check the speed/duplex settings for the port. It's possible that these are hard coded on fa0/10 to a value that matches the PC, but not the printer. Set them to auto and see if you get a link.
