CiscoView: "System Busy" error when trying to view a Catalyst 4000
I have a customer that is utilizing Ciscoworks2000. Recently, when he attempts to manage one of his Catalyst 4006 switches via CiscoView, the session appears to time out, and it generates an error message dialog with text indicating that the system (referring to the Catalyst) is busy.
This worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, and CiscoView works correctly with a number of other devices within the network (Cat6500, a different Cat4006, etc.).
He has restarted the Catalyst in hopes of clearing the condition, but the error message persists.
Has anyone experienced this behavior before? What is occurring, and what can be done to rectify the problem?
Re: CiscoView: "System Busy" error when trying to view a Catalys
- What version of CV is this?
- Is the latest CV device package installed for this Cat4006?
- Does the SNMP Community strings configured on the device and in CV match exactly?. If you have any SNMP walk tool on this CW2K, try doing a snmpwalk on this Cat4K to see if you're able to poll it via CLI using SNMP.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
