Now that Cisco IOS and HP OV (with the SNMP Security Extensions) support authentication and encryption with SNMP v3, does CiscoWorks 2000 (and especially RME) support v3?
Can it be modified to support v3?
Thanks.
Alan.

Short answer: NO.
This question was raised during Networkers last year in Copenhagen and the answer was that there are no plans either.
Best regards,
Michael.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Can the CW2000 product be configured to use an SNMP v3 to V1/v2c proxy agent?
All comms from proxy to network devices is via v3.
All comms between proxy and CW2000 is via v1 or v2c.

I would say that this isn't possible. I haven't seen anywhere in CW2000 that you can configure proxy settings (except the HTTP proxy for CCO access). I might be wrong.
Do you have any expiriences with SNMP proxies? And which are available (I only know of SNMP Research, http://www.snmp.com/protocol/proxyinfo.html)?
Best regards,
Michael.

I've only come across the SNMP proxies from SNMP Research.
I will be looking at this in the next few weeks though.
Thanks,
Alan.
