Ciscoworks and write net

Is there a easy way to have a device (router or catalyst switch) write back to a tftp server other than where Ciscoworks is running from ? We have a setup where Ciscoworks is on one server and our main tftp server is at a different address . How would this be done using the Netconfig part of Ciscoworks 2000 ? thanks for any help.....

Re: Ciscoworks and write net

why not look at the problem a different way ?

Let RME still back up the configs but then let a scheduled task (cron or AT) copy the files to the destination parth on your main ftp server.

This way you get 2 copies, how's that for a safety net! The most recent configs are mirrored in the CSCopx\files\config\shadow directory.

The path above is wrong. It's /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/archive/shadow

NetConfig will use the same server that it's on, can't point it to the other server. However, can use CLI snmp scripts for backing up the configs to a different server. There are a few tech tips for this at: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/SNMP/snmp-indx.html
