When I try to do device syncronization from ANI server to RME I am getting following error. I give hostname (Server name of ciscoworks) ,port 1741,username & password as admin.

"003/12/30 18:10:32 Send device info to Essentials:

Call Essentials DeviceListService command=addDevices,

Essentials host= port=

aniName=ANIServer4.1-BLR034ISTNM01

2003/12/30 18:10:32 ERROR: Send addDevices to

Essentials. Exception=java.lang.NumberFormatException:"

Please let me know how I can syncronise device discovered by ANI with RME.

Regards,

Shibu

If you use the ip address instead of the hostname, do you still get the same error?

I have tried giving ip address. But I received the same error.

What is the version of RME and Campus Manager that you have. Sounds similar to CSCds27676.

I have the same error with RME 3.5 and Campus Manager 3.3.

More question: the doc says the "reachable and managed" devices in ANI database can be synch to Essentials database. what it means "managed"?

And as we know, Essentials need to know devices' "telnet" or TACACS password, where to put for Synch?

thanks a lot.

David

I have the same synch problem but with another (but similar) error-msg:

Send device info to Essentials: Call Essentials DeviceListService command=addDevices, Essentials host=206.122.128.54 port=1741 aniName=ANIServer4.2-n069885b

ERROR: Send addDevices to Essentials. Exception=java.lang.NullPointerException

Using IP instead of hostname didn't help, also CSCds27676 didn't help.

found something:

when I reduce the count of entries in the SNMP settings from 12 to 6 entries again, sync to RME works fine again.

btw: we have LMS2.2, RME 3.5 with IDU 7.0, CM3.3 with IDU 7.0
