Can someone confirm to me that the only way to get configs downloaded from PIX firewalls is via telnet? If trying via SNMP when SNMP connectivity has already been proven you get a " cannot connect to host" error.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, since PIX only has a SNMP RO string and not a RW string.

Nick,
What is is your desired end result?

I am trying to get the pix configs managed by Config Manager so that we always have up to date copies. Although I have configured snmp and tacacs/enable passwords, the error I am getting back from RME is "cannot connect to host". Any ideas?
Thanks

On the pix make sure the ciscoworks serves has telnet access to the pix. Or ssh

Yep that's just it, from the command line of the CiscoWorks NMS i can SNMP walk the pix and telnet to it, I just cannot get RME to manage it!! Any pointers would be gratefully received!
Thanks
Nick
