I work for an ISP that provides dial-up, ISDN, DSL, and webhosting as well as e-mail. We are looking to get some network monitoring software and I havnt used either HP OpenView or CiscoWorks. Anybody have any suggestions on which, pro's/con's?

It depends on what exactly you want the application to do. Just general monitoring, fault management etc?

monitoring overall network performance and traffic on servers and routers.

CiscoWorks can be looked at for this. Not very familier with HPOV though. You can get an eval version from your Cisco SE for CW2K and play with to see if it interests you or else. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/index.html
contains the CW2K docs etc.
