Clarification on CAR

Hi Friends,

Please help me out to fix a problem. I need to limit the traffic of two particular IP's to 64K.Traffic for both these IP's put together should not exceed 64 K.

Will the below given CAR satisfy my requirement..??Or is it impossible to restrict more than one IP with a single CAR.

access-list 111 permit ip host 192.168.0.2 any

access-list 111 permit ip host 192.168.0.3 any

access-list 112 permit ip any host 192.168.0.2

access-list 112 permit ip any host 192.168.0.2

rate-limit input access-group 111 64000 8000 8000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop

rate-limit output access-group 112 64000 8000 8000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop

Will the above CAR be enough or according to the above one, when both IP's are used simultaneously they can pull 128K..??

Please clarify..

Thanks in advance..

Re: Clarification on CAR

This will limit the bandwidth assigned to both hosts. Both of them will share 64K in each direction.

For assigning 64 K to each host you'll need two different ACLs and corresponding rate-limit commands.

Regards.

access-list 111 permit ip host 192.168.0.2 any

access-list 112 permit ip host 192.168.0.3 any

access-list 113 permit ip any host 192.168.0.2

access-list 114 permit ip any host 192.168.0.2

rate-limit input access-group 111 64000 8000 8000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop

rate-limit output access-group 113 64000 8000 8000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop

rate-limit input access-group 112 64000 8000 8000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop

rate-limit output access-group 114 64000 8000 8000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop
