Clearing BGP sessions within VRF's

I've implemented layer3 VPN's using VRF's and address-families.

All is working well except I seem to be missing something when it comes to being able to do clears (soft or hard) on sessions within the vrf.

For example, I can do a 'show ip bgp vpnv4 vrf RED summary' and view the summary of all my BGP routers within that VRF.

Likewise, the form holds true for the following command.

show ip bgp vpnv4 vrf red neighbors 10.1.1.1 advertised-routes

The same form doesn't seem to work however for clearing sessions within that VRF.

ie.

clear ip bgp vpnv4 vrf RED 10.1.1.1 soft out

This form would be in keeping with the 'show' commands, but alas....

Can anybody shed some light ? I'd like to be able to do soft clears on the VRF BGP sessions just like I would in any other non-VRF session.

Thanks,

Re: Clearing BGP sessions within VRF's

The same VPNv4 session is used to carry all VRF information. You can therefore not clear the session for one single VRF.

Use the following command:

r2#clear ip bgp x.x.x.x vpnv4 unicast ?

in Soft reconfig inbound update

out Soft reconfig outbound update

soft Soft reconfig

Hope this helps,
