I have a cluster of 4 2950's. I want to run two gig connections from gig uplinks from the core 4507 to the cluster. Question is, will that cause a spanning tree loop which will cause one of the uplinks to block? How does spanning tree see the cluster, as one switch or a individuals.
from STP point of view switches in cluster are seen as individuals.
But if you connect the gigabit uplinks to different switches and leave default values of port costs the uplinks should stay forwarding and some lines between cluster switches should be blocked by STP. Your cluster will be still working OK but some switches will be connected through the core.
