CM state - online but unreachable

We encounter such problem in our CMTS network in instance that

the CM (cable modem) is online as you check the state in the show

cable modem but when you try to ping or check the connectivity it's

unreachable or not responding. Also verify from the client side, the

CM (a GI modem) LED stats are all green. No changes made in

the config file. The problem temporarily resolve when we reset the

modem or re-enroll the config file. We appreciate your help to resolve

the problem totally.

Best Regards,

Van

Re: CM state - online but unreachable

I faced a similar problem, which got solved by removing the command "cable dhcp-giaddr" and then issue the same command again. If this doesn't help, I would suggest you to do an upgrade for your G1 modem firmware.

For more details on the command "cable dhcp-giaddr", please refer to:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1830/products_feature_guide09186a0080087989.html#9131

This should help you solve the problem.
