Combing vlans over link bwtween 2 catalyst 6509

I wan to tak an existing vlan that is on say 6509(1) and another vlan(2) and use the link between the 2 6509's to virtually connect the vlans into one

Are you trying to bridge the VLANs together. In other words, are you trying to make VLAN 1 and VLAN 2 the same broadcast domain. If you just connect a port from each switch together from each VLAN, you will effectively bridge the VLANs together. You will need to turn off CDP as it will complain of a Native VLAN mismatch.

What I have is 1 6509 with a vlan2 with another 6509 connected also with a vlan2 that i want to connect together so they are essentially the same vlan2

Just connect them together, you can setup a trunk if you are interested in sharing all the VLANs.
