Communication between subnets

Is it possible to communicate between two subnets X and Y ...X on ethernet of Router A and Y on ethernet of router B..A and B connected by a serial link...no routing protocol, no static routes...to communicate without advertising any routes between each other....

Thanks

Re: Communication between subnets

this is a bridge - why use a router !

Re: Communication between subnets

I dont want routing to be turned off or bridging to be configured.

Re: Communication between subnets

i don't think it's possible.

router B does not have a route in its routing table to network X.

router A does not have a route in its routing table to network Y.

so i think network X could not communicate with network Y.

Re: Communication between subnets

Is it possible to do this scenario by tunneling by any means...? layer 2 tunneling ???? i know there is no route in either directions....
