Compact flash w/PCMCIA adapter and Cisco 6500 supervisor modules

We're in the process of upgrading all of our L3 capable Cisco 650x from the CatOS to the native IOS. Rather than buy PCMCIA flash cards just for this upgrade, is it possible to use compact flash (such as what's found in some digital cameras) and a type I PCMCIA compact flash adapter in these supervisor modules to perform the upgrade?

Thanks

As an FYI, you do not neccessarily need a flash card to run native IOS. You can TFTP the native IOS file into the Sup-bootflash and boot from it

Also, only Sup720s use compact flash cards. Sup1/2 use normal PCMCIA flash cards. Here is Cisco's third Party Components Policy
