compress stac on interfaces

Yesterday,i use compress stac for one of my branch1 office router ser0 interface and my head office router ser2/6 int,which is connected by leased line(LL) and it was quite good,now today i face from branch1 office users not getting ping and company web server which is in branch2 which is connected thru LL to head office router.

now when i remove the compress stac from branch1 router and head office router they able to ping to web server of other branch2 office.

i want to know what compress stac does and what should i use for compression.

STAC compresses the data stream, prior to

transmission. You can read about it in

RFC 1974 and RFC 1967.

Stac is more CPU intensive than predictor, and

it's better at compression for slow speed

links (lines at less than T1 speeds); if your

link is fast (1 or 2Mbs), Predictor starts to

outperform Stac. There have been compression

bugs in the past, so you should ensure that

you are running recent code.
