Config for a bench test using 2 serial routers (1601s)

I have 2 serial routers on a bench test. I have 2 x serial cables male to female connected together to simulate the serial link. Are there any sample configs I can use as I dont seem to be able to pass data across these links.

One of the serial interfaces need to be a DCE and the another one as DTE.

All serial interfaces are DTE by default.

To change the interface to DCE just configure the serial interface with the command "clockrate" and use a DCE cable.
