config MVR

Hi all,

when config MVR in 3550, must I also config mvr in the interface? And If I use compatitive mode, what should I config in the router? Thank You!

According to the configuration guide, you need to enable MVR gobally and then configure an interface as either MVR source or destination. These are the required tasks.

In compatibility mode, the switch does not send join messages to the router. Hence, the router must be statically configured for the interface to receive the multicast stream. You can probably try the 'ip igmp join-group' or 'ip igmp static-group' command on the router to configure the particular group as a static on that interface.
