Configuration of Cisco 2511 Terminal Server

Hi,

The configuration of the terminal server is as below:

Current configuration:

!

version 11.2

service password-encryption

no service udp-small-servers

no service tcp-small-servers

!

hostname pn2-ext-termsvr2

!

enable secret 5 <removed>

!

no ip domain-lookup

ip host pnsgInet1 2016 172.21.x.x

ip host PNC2WEB1 2002 172.21.x.x

ip host PNC2WEB2 2003 172.21.x.x

ip host PNC2WEB3 2004 172.21.x.x

ip host pn2proxy1 2001 172.21.x.x

!

interface Ethernet0

ip address 172.21.x.x 255.255.255.0

!

interface Serial0

no ip address

shutdown

!

ip classless

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.21.x.x

!

line con 0

password 7 <removed>

login

line 1 16

no exec

transport input all

line aux 0

line vty 0 4

password 7 <removed>

login

!

end

I am able to remotely console into the router connected to port 16. However, i am not able to console into the 4 Sun servers connected to ports 1-4. I am suspecting it could be due to the "no exec" command applied to line 1 16(see above configuration). Any ideas?

Re: Configuration of Cisco 2511 Terminal Server

You do need "No Exec" under all the lines because it will prevent the launch of an EXEC session because of unwanted signals from the attached device.

The config is good..Pl. make sure that the cabling is ok too..Visit following url for more detail on sun console access
