When using RME for configuration management an important part is missing for IOS switches like 3500 and 2900. The part I'm missing is the VLAN configuration stored in the VLAN.DAT file in IOS. It seems that RME doesn't collect this part. Is this correct or did I overlook something?

Yes, you are correct. This information is currently missing from RME Config Management as it does not back up the vlan.dat on IOS switches. Have a look at CSCds46276 via CCO Bug Toolkit for more details on this. This feature most likely will be added beyond RME 3.4 release.
